Belarus is different! Different from other countries! Different from what people think of us!
We won't be too original if we say that we have 20 thousands rivers and 10 thousands lakes and that one third of Belarus is covered with forests, that important European eco-corridors go through our country and we have a rich cultural heritage and long-standing hospitality traditions which are well-kept on our farmsteads.
But we have something else! Belarus is a country for thinking people! We still have left some of the old socialist flavour that is now unique in Europe. This gives you the feeling that you have joined one big family. It is a country of open hearts and doors. Belarusian "kolkhos" - collective farms - are quite efficient and also have facilities to accommodate and entertain guests. One can find community centers in almost every big village, where local folklore and crafts are saved and popularized. Belarus is a country particularly for gourmets both in direct and indirect meanings. It is safe and stable here.
